The 2009 Asian Science Camp was hosted by the Heisei Foundation for Basic Science, the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) and the International Center for Elementary Particle Physics (ICEPP) at the University of Tokyo. Recently KEK has become renowned for Professor Makoto Kobayashi, former Director of Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics KEK, who was awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physics.
The 2009 Asian Science Camp was held August 2nd - 8th in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan. It was a 7-day inspiring period for around 200 Asian students, who learned from Nobel Laureates and other eminent scientists in the fields of physics and chemistry. Our ambition is that students participated in the Asian Science Camp event will eventually contribute to the future science in Asia and globally through their creativity and achievements.
